Environmental Care & Norit’s Activated Carbon Regeneration
Great news during June 2005: Norit’s reactivation plant in Ravenna (Italy) has been awarded the ISO 14001 certificate. ”Our commitment to the environment has driven us to ISO 14001, which stands for quality of our environmental care system” Ivo Angelini, manager of the Ravenna plant, proudly comments. Reactivation is a thermal process for regenerating exhausted Activated Carbon used in e.g . potable water treatment, purification of gases and wastewaters. The regenerated carbon is typically reused in the original application. Hence, the recycle loop is closed: an environmentally sound and cost effective way! Environmental care is a focal point at Norit’s reactivation plants all over Europe: e.g. the Zaandam (NL) plant has already been ISO 14001 certified before. 27-07-2005 |
